The A-League’s sideline reporter Tristan MacManus wants more Australians to embrace professional soccer.
“I used to go and watch Sydney FC … all the time,” says Tristan MacManus, co-host of. “I started recognising some familiar faces; people from Channel Ten and Paramount .”Credit:MacManus must have made a good impression with his enthusiasm for and knowledge of the game many Australians know as soccer.
“As a fan, I knew exactly what questions I wanted to ask,” he says. “I guess my energy came through.”Tristan MacManus“Regardless of which code or sport you’re into, when you’re watching at home, you have a million questions for the players … and there’s a responsibility, as a sideline reporter, that I’d never really thought about before. While you see what’s going on, you might not be watching what everyone else is watching on the TV at home so you have to find the right perspective.
