Why customers should expect measurable value from SaaS vendors paid servicenow
Being a technology vendor used to be pretty cushy.
Sell them more features and licenses than they could possibly use? Hit them with price hikes on support and new versions? Unfortunately, this was the norm—and what the customer bought they owned forever, so they rarely tried to get out of a vendor relationship. SaaS companies have revolutionized how software is delivered. Now we need to revolutionize how we measure its business value.
Since 2014, Amazon has used a “Trusted Advisor” tool to see whether cloud customers are using more or less of a resource than planned, so they can adjust their subscription packages accordingly. It’s a great example of an industry leader proactively showing customers and sales teams how to right-size spend. Similarly, ServiceNow has embarked on a significant effort to help our customers measure the business impact of the digital transformation we enable.
