There were 2,265 people in hospital with the virus and the state reported 25 people with COVID-19 had lost their lives. It is a notable increase in both cases and deaths compared to yesterday, when NSW Health reported 7,648 new cases and four deaths.Another 44 people in Victoria have lost their lives with COVID in the latest reporting period.
It comes as the state records 6,380 new cases, with health authorities aware of more than 40,000 known active cases at the moment.
