Fitbit watches, drones, Yeezy sneakers, hairdryers and Kylie Jenner make-up products have all been identified as branded items which fraudsters are using to lure victims in.

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's Scamwatch has confirmed Aussies are falling victim to ploys that have sparked warnings in the UK. One of the most common online shopping scams at this time of year is the use of fake websites or social media accounts to offer luxury items for sale, Scamwatch says.However, once purchased, the customer is likely to be delivered a fake item, or nothing at all.

"Warning signs for online shopping scams include extremely low advertised prices and requests to pay through direct bank transfer or cryptocurrency," ACCC Deputy Chair Delia Rickard said.
