Rapid antigen tests have sold out across Sydney ahead of Christmas and amid a surge in daily coronavirus cases but pharmaceutical wholesalers assure there is enough stock for the holiday period.

National President Professor Trent Twomey said he has spoken to three main pharmaceutical wholesalers to ensure stock would be replenished amid the unprecedented demand.

Mr Twomey explained rapid antigen tests are currently sold out at many pharmacies across Sydney due to “an unpredicted surge” and “a maldistribution of stock”.
