The Sydney suburbs where property prices have risen and fallen most | TawarRazaghi
Unit prices have begun to decline in some Sydney suburbs as demand is subdued.Property listingsMedian house prices are still higher than last year in every Sydney suburb, with lifestyle locations continuing to lead the way, new figures reveal.
Even the bottom 10 suburbs recorded price growth. The slowest growing suburb was North Parramatta, increasing 6 per cent to $1.1 million, followed by Dulwich Hill, which recorded the next weakest price growth of 6.3 per cent, taking its median to $1,905,000. Domain’s chief of research and economics Dr Nicola Powell said median house prices will take some time to fall after such a strong run-up in growth.
Ben Horwood of Horwood Nolan said there was virtually no demand for units as houses reigned supreme in Concord, as well as neighbouring suburbs such as Cabarita and Breakfast Point offering better quality apartments. The 42-year-old said even though they were selling their unit, upsizing was a daunting financial prospect.
