The sold-out daytime nightclub experience hit Stealth in the city centre on Saturday, March 30
It is 3.30pm on a Saturday afternoon. So why have five men just jumped out of a taxi outside a Nottingham nightclub? There can only be one reason. Day Fever - the nightclub experience for over 30's, brought to life by hometown hero Vicky McClure and her husband Jonny Owen - has just hit the city for the first time.
"When you get to certain age you don't want to go to a club surrounded by 20 year olds," says Jo, 52. "I feel quite young here!" Some are of an older generation, but there are plenty here who can't be much older than 30. There's even one group who've come as a family, with a teenager who you'd think would rather be anywhere else, but actually has a smile on his face.
"There's no kids. Or idiots," says Natasha, 46. "I went to town a couple of weeks ago and everyone was about 20, 21. I felt really ****. Without being rude, I don't want to see a lot of young people here. I want to see people my age with our music having a really good time." As they speak, Jon and Vicky are up on stage behind the decks. Jonny Owen, Vicky's husband, is there too. They're just as into it as everyone on the floor is.
