The veteran reconciliation campaigner said he was driven by the need to right"injustices" which still plagued Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities, citing failings in the education and justice systems as problems which needed to be addressed. The Yes campaign has faced repeated questions from critics and some undecided voters about the detail underpinning the Voice proposal, with suggestions the Albanese government should have enacted legislation outlining how the body would function before the referendum.

Senator Dodson echoed comments from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese earlier on Wednesday, who maintained his belief that if Australians"read the clear proposition that's on the ballot paper" they would vote to enshrine the Voice into the Constitution. Picture: NCA NewsWire/Martin Ollman
