When a rural town loses jobs or services, it can be hard to keep people. The neighbouring towns of Nangwarry and Tarpeena in South Australia's south-east have two very different stories to tell.
"It might be the leader of the local football club or the woman who runs the local café, but they can make a big difference to how a town is viewed from the outside and what kind of energy that takes hold.It is something Lynton Cram appreciates most about where he lives.
"A lot of people do say country towns are dying, but they're looking at the shops that are closing, they're not looking at the people that live in the town and what they're doing for the town," he said.
