Australia’s first wind turbine training tower will skill up young people as the country’s renewable energy sector is set to face aThe $1.8 million tower, based at Federation University’s campus in Ballarat, two hours west of Melbourne, will simulate working at heights in an onshore wind turbine.
Federation TAFE will be the only training provider in Australia able to deliver the Global Wind Organisation basic safety training and refresher courses, which are required to work on turbines domestically and overseas, from a simulated tower.
