Contact tracers have declared three flights into Queensland last week as COVID-19 exposure sites, with some passengers deemed close contacts

.the interstate borders reopened at 1am on MondayQantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia flights are now on Queensland Health’s COVID-19 exposure site list. The first flight was Jetstar flight JQ942 Melbourne to Cairns on Friday, December 10, between 6.29am and 8.43am. Passengers in rows 23-27 were close contacts. All other passengers are casual contacts.

Flight data from FlightAware shows the plane spent one hour and 48 minutes on the tarmac in Sydney prior to its departure to Brisbane. Queensland recorded four new virus cases in the past 24 hours to Tuesday morning, but Chief Health Officer Dr John Gerrard said all were in quarantine and none were infectious in the community.
