A devastating fire has torn through three homes and left a man hospitalised in a serious condition in the Brisbane suburb of Hawthorne.
The blaze, which started at about 8pm on Saturday, also had two more people hospitalised to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Paramedics later confirmed a man in his 40s was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a serious condition with burns to his head, chest, arms, back and legs.Local residents tried frantically to fight the blaze with garden hoses before emergency services arrived. Picture: Facebook By Sunday the outburst had been put out, with images showing the roof of one house had collapsed and the area cordoned off while investigators examined the scene.
