A lovelorn tiger in India walked more than 1,300 kilometres looking for a mate – and ended up almost back where he started. 9News
He made his way to the Dnyanganga Wildlife Sanctuary in Maharashtra, about 300 kilometre northwest of where his journey began.
The forest department hopes studying T1-C1's journey will help it to better manage migration routes and prevent conflict between people and the big cats. The friction between man and beast was starkly illustrated when one villager disturbed the tiger and had a lucky escape.
