Despite the NSW government offering the Rail Union a new commitment, it claims the offer was received “too late” as industrial action continues.
The state government offered the Rail Union a new commitment to modify the new inner-city train fleet. Rail, Bus and Tram Union Secretary Alex Claassens said the union requires it to go through a 48-hour approval process which meant it was too late in the day to call off the current industrial action affecting Sydney commuters.
“The unions and the NSW Labor Party are treating our people as political pawns in their game, it is unacceptable,” NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet said.
