Dr Thomas Gift, director of the Centre on US Politics at University College London, suggested that Ms Pelosi’s comments were a subtle hint to Mr Biden to rethink his decision to run for another term as president.“You can read between the lines there. She seems to be suggesting that he should jump out of the race, because he has made his decision, at least according to Biden, so to say he is equivocating – he really has not been,” he told.

Or they would stay home. Neither of these scenarios bodes well for President Biden. One deprives him of the legitimacy and support that is critical for governing, the other likely puts Trump in the White House.
Mr Biden faces a make-or-break couple of days as he hosts world leaders for the Nato summit in Washington DC, during which Republicans, allied countries, and his own party will be looking out for any sign of the gaffes or confusion of the kind
