The President of the Australian Medical Association said some Western Australians feel 'betrayed' by Premier Mark McGowan and declared 'now' is the time to open borders and 'battle Omicron' - as the state broke its daily COVID-19 case record again.
The record-breaking cases on Friday come as daily infections continue to increase rapidly, with 177 local infections on Thursday, 115 on Wednesday and 48 on Tuesday.
AMA President Dr Omar Khorshid said there are “far more cases in the community” than coming through the borders as he implored Premier Mark McGowan to reopen to the rest of the country.
