German medical teams carry out extensive tests on Alexei Navalny as he receives treatment in a Berlin clinic after his delayed transfer from a Russian hospital is carried out.
Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, who has been in a coma after a suspected poisoning, has landed in Germany for treatment.Mr Navalany's personal doctor said the politician had always been in good healthMr Navalny was in a stable condition and has been taken by ambulance to Berlin's Charite hospital after arriving on a flight from Siberia.
Jaka Bizilj, who helped organise the flight for the Kremlin critic, said he was not qualified to say how Mr Navalny had fallen ill, but that "it's obvious that something terrible happened". When German specialists arrived aboard a plane equipped with advanced medical equipment on Friday morning, Mr Navalny's physicians in Omsk initially said he was too unstable to move.
The most prominent member of Russia's opposition, Mr Navalny campaigned to challenge Mr Putin in the 2018 presidential election but was barred from running.
