Top Russian diplomat ‘flees’ UN meeting after showdown over Ukraine | FarrahTomazin

Russia’s top diplomat has walked out of a United Nations Security Council meeting as the US and its allies stepped up their condemnation of Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and accused Moscow of violating international law.

While he was there, he used the global platform to once again accuse the West of forcing Russia to launch its so-called “special military operation” to protect itself, and claimed that Ukraine and its allies were attempting to “impose on us a completely different narrative about Russian aggression”. Today’s Security Council meeting was at least the 20th time the group has met on Ukraine this year, but it has been unable to take meaningful action because Russia is a permanent member and can veto any moves against it.
