A town is in mourning after four long-term residents were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a truck near the Victoria-NSW border.
Phillips, who was friends with all four of the crash victims, said both couples had moved south from Lake Cargelligo to Wagga Wagga in NSW where the Breens had family. “It has had a devastating effect on our little community in the Lachlan Shire. We will certainly be doing something on behalf of the family,” he said.
The 30-year-old truck driver involved in this week’s incident received upper body injuries and was taken to Wodonga Hospital in a stable condition, where he had undergone mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
