A man who was arrested after a woman was killed on a major road near Wigan has been released on bail, police have confirmed.
A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was taken into custody for questioning.In an update issued this morning , a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said he had since been released on bail while investigations continue. Following the woman's tragic death, readers of the Manchester Evening News paid tribute on Facebook. June wrote: "Rest in peace young lady. Sincere sympathies to family and friends x x".Dave commented: "So sad, no age." Leanne added: "So sad, RIP."
DS Matt Waggett, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said yesterday: "Our thoughts are with the family of this young woman who are dealing with their loss this morning.
