In January 2021 Twitter had banned Trump for life immediately following theThe insurrection on the Capitol Building in Washington DC saw a group of around 2500 Trump supporters' riot in a bid to overturn his loss in the 2020 presidential election.Former President Donald Trump was permanently suspended from Twitter over fears his account would incite violence following the January 6 Capitol insurrection.
Rioters occupied the Capitol Building for several hours, and assaulted law enforcement officers and vandalised the property in the process. Trump was accused of inciting the violent riot through an address he made on the day and was eventually impeached for a second time.At the time Twitter stated it was permanently suspending Trump's account because it posed "risk of further incitement of violence".
Now instead of using Twitter, Trump says he will use his own social networking platform 'Truth Social', according to Fox News."We're taking in millions of people and what we're what we're finding is that the response on Truth is much better than being on Twitter," he told Fox.
