Twins launch 'nasty attack' on mum in Nottingham city centre then one steals her £800 bag

A mum of a 3-year-old thought she was going to die after being a victim of a "nasty attack" in the city centre. Twins Bryony and Alice Josie Richardson appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Monday in relation to the attack on Megan Ward. Both pleased not guilty.

She managed to get home and called an ambulance. Ms Ward said she suffered a "severe concussion", alongside "severe swelling" to her face and bruising to her body after the incident. Bryony told the court: "Some of my friends were trying to stop the fight". She said she was approached by Megan Ward and “felt threatened by her” near the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall.Alice Josie Richardson, 23, said she intervened to protect her sister and that she acted "out of instinct" and threw three kicks to separate the two women who were on the floor at the time.

She mentioned an incident, involving their older sister who was involved in a court case. She said their family "got a big stick" for it, and has suffered abuse ever since. "In the police interview they exercised their right to remain silent. Someone who is innocent would shout their innocence from the rooftops."
