Police have confirmed the two children, aged nine and 11, were found dead west of Sydney.

The bodies of two boys aged nine and 11 have been found in a home in Faulconbridge in Sydney's Blue Mountains. NSW Police said the children's bodies were found by a family member.

Polices sources told the ABC the children suffered stab wounds while the woman, believed to be the mother of the boys, is being treated for self-inflicted stab wounds.
