More than 30 firefighters responded to a suspicious fire overnight on Monday after a car crashed into a business in Port Melbourne, with two children from a nearby home taken to hospital.
Two children have been hospitalised after a suspicious fire broke out at a Port Melbourne hair salon overnight when a car ploughed through the business.
The fire spread rapidly, destroying the ground floor before it moved upstairs where residents were sleeping. Emergency services were called to a fire at the retirement village in Patterson Lakes, 35 kilometres south-east of Melbourne’s CBD, about 1.20am.
