More than a dozen buildings will be acquired by the NSW government to build two new CBD rail stations as part of the Sydney Metro West line, catering for 3 million people.
Two new metro stations in Sydney's CBD are expected to slash travel times for commuters travelling from the city's west.Thirteen buildings will be purchased by the government for the projectsThe stations for the Sydney Metro West line which will link Parramatta and the city will be built at Pyrmont and Hunter Street.
“We are going to see the acquisition of 13 buildings, but they are not residential, they’re commercial in nature,” he said. “The Hunter Connection is part of that acquisition program but we will work with those businesses, compensate those businesses, we’ll help relocate those businesses,” Mr Constance said.
Mr Constance said he’d be happy to see a federal government contribution to the project but it’s not crucial.
