UConn’s season-opening 24-14 loss to NC State in East Hartford on Thursday came with one of the most embarrassing plays of the very young college football season.
Luckily for Jim Mora’s UConn squad, the play resulted in an incomplete pass and not a turnover.
Not so lucky for the Huskies was a 24-14 loss to the Wolfpack plagued by their offensive inconsistency. Fagnano finished the night connecting on 14 of his 26 pass attempts for 113 yards with an interception, adding 18 yards on the ground. Joe Fagnano’s attempted tap pass to James Burns came with a misread on the play by running back Brian Brewton.UConn’s Victor Rosa was responsible for both of the team’s scores, racking up 99 yards on nine rushes — including a 71-yard run.“I can sit here and say that it’s encouraging that we were with them and we played with them, an ACC opponent, but the standard is we win those games.
