British voters are set to head to the polls in an election that will pave the way for Brexit under Prime Minister Boris Johnson or propel the UK towards another referendum that could reverse the decision to leave the European Union. 9News
The Prime Minister voted at Methodist Central Hall, near Downing Street, on Thursday morning.Johnson instead opted to vote in central London despite a heavy tactical voting campaign to oust him from his own Uxbridge and South Ruislip seat.
After January 31, Britain would enter a transition period during which it would negotiate a new relationship with the EU27. He has pledged to do that by the end of 2020. Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the Conservative Party and Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn faced off in the final televised debate ahead of the country's December 12th general election.
The UK voted by 52 per cent to 48 per cent in 2016 to quit the EU. But parliament has been deadlocked since May's failed bet on a 2017 snap election over how, when and even whether to leave.
