Lord Digby Jones has proposed a new royal yacht to lift UK morale.
"We have a damn good chance in this country and a royal yacht at this moment would just be one of those good quality delivery messages," he said. He denied that the proposal was either elitist or an "old age thing", despite the £100 million price tag attached.The previous royal yacht, HMY Britannia, was decommissioned in 1997.
