UK's first Black maternal health conference to support Black mothers by S_Fleary1
TIME FOR CHANGE: Sandra Igwe, created the Black Maternal Health Conference and is also the founder and CEO of the Motherhood Group, a leading support group for black mothers in the UK.
Ms Igwe said: “We have powerful and reputable voices within the sector contributing to the day which will support in improving Black women’s health outcomes. Speakers at the event will include Bell Riberriro Addy MP, Professor Jacqueline Dunkley Bent OBE and several health experts, including midwives, counsellors and doctors.
Ms Igwe aims to continue to highlight gaps in the system and disparities, reiterating the importance of Black women receiving healthcare that is respectful, culturally competent, safe and of the highest quality.
