Two investigations in Queensland and New South Wales have already begun after the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission referred cases of price gouging.

"The AFP will use its full powers to crack down on RAT price gouging," Assistant Commissioner Ryan said. The AFP also expects there will be more investigations as allegations of price gouging continue to be reported.Strike teams have the powers to force individuals or businesses to surrender the rapid antigen tests if they're found to be price gouging, they will then be sent to the National Medical Stockpile.People or businesses found to be price gouging can face significant fines and even jail time.
