Neighbors of the farm property, which the township plans to turn into a park, have rallied around preservation of the parcel's partially-historic farmhouse amidst fears that the township would decide to demolish it for lack of other options.

Upper Allen Township did not receive any viable bids on a pitch to sell and relocate the Lambert farmhouse on McCormick Road, leaving the partially historic structure’s future in question as the township plans to move forward with the construction of a park on the surrounding land. At the township commissioners’ meeting Wednesday night, township officials said only two interested parties had responded to the solicitation for the sale – one didn’t bid and the other’s bid was conditional on the township selling an additional parcel to where the farmhouse could be moved across McCormick Road, which was not part of the township’s proposed deal.
“What our next step will be, we’ll have to deliberate,” said commission President Ken Martin, stressing that the township has not formally decided to demolish the Lambert house, as someIf you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
