It involves cutting out a lymph node in the armpit for examination, to help determine whether cancer cells are present, and if they’ve spread. “We are giving too much treatment to young people in particular who don’t need it, and a whole lot of older people are missing out on treatment that could save their lives.”
“It’s the same procedure that was done 20 years ago, is that necessarily the same procedure that needs to be done today?” Terry said.
