“Under this pilot, residents can put fruit and vegetable waste in their green bins, and we’ve received very positive feedback that will help inform its expansion across Brisbane,” a council spokeswoman said. Of the more than 2000 responses, 98 per cent said Brisbane City Council should provide a food and organic waste collection service, and 93 per cent said a dedicated bin would reduce the amount of waste going into their general rubbish bin.Cassidy said Labor councillors were calling on council to commit to a full organic waste management service in the upcoming council budget.
“With a full FOGO service, you can compost everything from eggshells to fruit and vegetable scraps, meat offcuts, and even dog poo.
