The fundamental requirement at the moment is to ensure the coronavirus outbreak is contained in Victoria, according to the Australian’s Editor-at-Large Paul Kelly.
Mr Kelly said the current outbreak is "dangerous" and it "could get worse, but it must be contained" in the state. The number of coronavirus cases in Australia continues to climb, fuelled by double-digit growth in Victoria in the past fortnight.
There were 73 new cases of the deadly disease reported in Victoria on Wednesday. Mr Kelly told Sky News host Peta Credlin the outbreak must be contained so the commitment made by the Prime Minster and state premiers, to reopen the economy, can be met.
