The latest quarterly CommSec State of the States report showed an exceptionally strong job market in Victoria helped propel the state to the top of the list.
Retail spending in Victoria was up by more than any other state in the last quarter relative to decade-average levels, the CommSec report found.However, Victoria's lead in the ranking of best performing economics is very marginal, CommSec Chief Economist Craig James has explained."Victoria may have moved to the top of the economic leader-board, but there is little to separate the top four economies," James said.
