Breaking Victoria has recorded just one new coronavirus case and no deaths following the easing of some coronavirus restrictions this week.
Melbourne's 14-day rolling case average now sits at 6.4, and the city has 13 cases with an unknown source.
A so-called"ring of steel" separating metropolitan Melbourne from regional Victoria remains in place despite the relaxation of restrictions in the city on Sunday night. Shepparton and Kilmore have been mopping up outbreaks in recent weeks after a COVID-positive truck driver from Melbourne stopped in the regional centres."They don't want a situation where that's put at risk by people making trips into regional Victoria that aren't absolutely necessary," Mr Andrews told reporters on Monday.
Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, meanwhile, has come out swinging at Mr Andrews over the cautious pace of easing restrictions."There's been a callous indifference in Victoria from the government to the loss of jobs and to the plight of small business."Under this week's changes, Melburnians are now allowed to travel 25km from home and there is no limit on time spent outdoors.
