RedBridge Group Director Simon Welsh says the Victorian Liberal Party may have made a “tactical blunder” in pushing the state’s health issue.

Mr Welsh’s remarks come after Victorian Opposition leader Matthew Guy made a pre-election pitch prioritising health over infrastructure.

“We’ve been finding for years now – and this is well before COVID – that political parties need to be really careful about how they talk about hospitals and hospitals funding,” he told Sky News Australia. “What we’ve seen in this past week is the Liberals’ announcement has really pushed this narrative of ‘well how they’re going to staff it?’.”
