Victorians who failed to vote in last year's state election and have not yet paid their fine are set to be hit with another financial penalty.

The Victorian Electoral Commission confirmed on Tuesday a penalty reminder notice will be sent out to non-voters this week.

The notice comes with a fee of $27.70 on top of the $92 fine for not turning up to a polling booth for the November 26, 2022 state election. Non-voters are being warned failure to act on the notice will see the matter handed over to Fines Victoria for further enforcement action. Electoral Commissioner Sven Bluemmel said those who receive a penalty reminder notice in the mail have three options.
