The migration of Victorian clubs to Queensland will turn the state into the “sporting Mecca” of Australia, according to Sky News contributor Caleb Bond.
According to the Courier Mail “Queensland is poised t become the undisputed sporting capital of Australia after the AFL yesterday announced all 10 Victorian clubs would be relocating to the Sunshine State”.
Mr Bond said moving the sport to Queensland may help to “decentralise the League”. “In many respects the AFL still likes to think of itself as the VFL,” he told Sky News host Peter Gleeson. “At least temporarily it puts a pause on the Victorian stranglehold over the AFL”.
