Coronavirus outbreaks at Chadstone, Box Hill and Kilmore derail plans to move to the next step of easing restrictions, with Victorians resigned to waiting a little longer.
Some Victorians seem resigned to the fact that the restrictions will not be eased quite as soon as they may have hoped.
People enjoying some time outdoors at Yarra Bend Park told the ABC it was disappointing, but it was the right thing to do. "I guess it's for the best. I can sense that people are getting a little tired of lockdown restrictions," one woman said."I think if we need to stay that way to make it safe, we should continue with the restrictions," she said.
Opposition Leader Michael O'Brien said the Premier should look to New South Wales as an example of how the state can open safely. "It's time for the Premier to start listening to the experts who say we can open up in Victoria, so we can give them their lives back. That's what we need," he said. For some businesses, the ongoing uncertainty about the easing of restrictions has been "absolute hell".But because of the restrictions, he can only have one person on site."It would be the equivalent of having one guy build a whole house. It's just not practical.
