Viola Davis looks ready for a fierce battle in a new image from the upcoming historical epic, The Woman King. The venerable actor stars as Nanisca, a general of the Dahomey Amazons or Mino, an all-female regiment in the Kingdom of Dahomey in West Africa.
Empire released a new image from The Woman King that shows Davis as Nanisca leading her troops toward battle. She is flanked by Lynch and Atim, both armed with melee weapons and ready to fight. Prince-Bythewood explained of the cast,"We were intentional of creating an ensemble of the dopest actors of this moment from all over the diaspora." Check out the new still below.
