After an unaffiliated pop-up shop in Sydney went viral for allegedly misleading customers, US cookie brand Crumbl Cookies has announced plans to open stores in Australia.
Cult US cookie brand Crumbl Cookies has announced plans to open stores in Australia after an unaffiliated pop-up store in Sydney went viral last week when it was accused of duping customers. Fans lined up in droves outside a shop in North Bondi last Sunday for a chance to get their hands on the coveted cookies, which were priced at $17.50 a pop.
The organisers of the pop-up event were labelled “deceptive” with fans claiming they knowingly purported to be the real Crumbl Cookies brand. A media frenzy ensued with people from around the world jumping onto social media to share their thoughts on the incident. In a twist the real Crumbl Cookies brand has now announced it plans to open stores in Australia. “The team at Crumbl has been amazed by the support of fans in Australia over recent weeks,” a spokesperson said.
