Travel to Western Australia from every state will be restricted from midnight on Sunday, as Premier Mark McGowan again tightens the state's border rules following COVID cases in Queensland and Tasmania.

"It's not an easy thing, and no doubt I'll get lots of people attacking and criticising and so forth," Mr McGowan said. "But we're doing what we have to do to try and keep the state safe as we get to that very high level of vaccination and reopening on February 5."
