Severe weather continues in South Australia today, with the State Emergency Service issuing watch and act messages for two dams at high risk of failure at Basket Range and Hope Forest.

The SES advises people in affected areas to follow their emergency plan.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds in parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges and Murraylands today. Strong to damaging wind gusts with a peak of around 100 kilometres per hour are possible over the Mount Lofty Ranges and adjacent areas to the east.The BOM said a 102 kph wind gust was recorded at Murray Bridge on Saturday night.In the state's west, the Lower Eyre Peninsula has been hit by flash flooding with SES crewsMeanwhile, a new sinkhole has appeared near Mount Gambier's city centre after persistent heavy rain in the region.

The hole, about two metres wide and about the same depth, has formed in a path to the Rail Lands precinct from Margaret Street.Several, much larger, sinkholes are popular attractions in the city and surrounding countryside.
