Mark McGowan is making an announcement alongside the Health Minister following a day of record local COVID-19 cases in Western Australia and after previously flagging changes to restrictions and border measures. Join Sky News Australia for live coverage.

Daily infections continue to increase rapidly in Western Australia, with 177 local community cases on Thursday, 115 on Wednesday and 48 on Tuesday.

"Enhanced public health social measures are being considered. As the number of local cases grow, well then you might go further than what we currently have," he said last week. "We're reviewing it as we speak. We said we would review it over February and no doubt we'll reach an announcement some time during February," he said.
