Police investigating the disappearance of a young mother from a rural town in Queensland’s north hope half a million dollars will help solve the cold case.

“We’ve exhausted our lines of inquiry, we’ve spoken to multiple people,” Detective Superintendent Sonia Smith said.“Over the years we’ve done a number of searches and conducted a number of investigations which led us to applying for the reward to the Queensland government.”The mother of two from Coen, some four hours north of Cooktown, was last seen at Archer River Quarry on February 10, about 11pm.

“We, the Bernard family, are still devastated by Allison’s disappearance,” the family said in a statement read by Smith to reporters in Cairns on Tuesday. “Family members deserve the respect of having the questions that surround her disappearance answered.” She said it was a lengthy process to apply for the $500,000 reward, and a decision police had carefully considered.
