The wedding of West Coast Eagles veteran Andrew Gaff has been brought to an abrupt end after a bushfire took hold in Perth’s western suburbs. The fire started in Bold Park in City Beach just after 9pm on Sunday, with the blaze escalating to threaten lives and homes.
Andrew Gaff’s wedding evacuated over Bold Park bushfire. 7NEWS reports Gaff’s guests, which included teammates Elliot Yeo and Jack Darling and former Eagles premiership player Scott Lycett, were forced to evacuate. “We were just at a wedding and the police came and said we’ve got to leave, there is a fire over the hill,” one guest said. The father of the bride was spotted carrying the wedding cake from the Quarry Amphitheatre. The fire is believed to have been sparked by squatters in parkland.
