Two Wests Tigers stars will have to pass a COVID-19 test in order to play against Brisbane on Friday night because they live in a hotspot.
Under strict NRL protocols, the players must be tested before being allowed to play.Tigers assistant and former club legend Brett Hodgson, development player Zac Cini and coaching staff member Simon Dwyer, who all live in the affected region, were also sent for testing.
Neither Nofoaluma or Aloiai displayed any symptoms and had passed the daily temperature and symptoms checks when they arrived at training on Thursday morning.“They’re following protocols and have gone straight to testing,” Maguire revealed on Thursday morning.“We’ll get the results back on that pretty soon.“I’m sure those sorts of things will continue to happen [across the game] for a period of time.
“It’s giving everyone something on a weekend to watch and enjoy so we’ve got to do everything possible to keep it going.”
