With the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting a hot, dry summer, restrictions will be enforced in the Greater Sydney, Blue Mountains and Illawarra areas. No hosing of gardens: you can use only a watering can or bucket to water your garden before 10am and after 4pm.
One such measure is using grey water - water collected from showers, baths, sinks and washing machines. Ryde mother-of-two Tanya Lazarou is also teaching her older child, Logan, 4, about water conservation.
