"There were many moments in doing this collection that were coincidental and strange but beautiful," she says.During her research, Zimmermann discovered the work of Ellis Rowan, a trailblazing botanical illustrator from the late 19th century, whose prints feature in the collection, part of a deal between the fashion label and the National Library of Australia, which holds the biggest collection of work by Rowan, who died in 1922 aged 74.
"It won't ever be a significant part of our line," she says with a laugh. "We will really stick to what we do ... [and] try to bring some joy and happiness." Beth and Tessa Macgraw dedicated their collection to their parents, whose wedding photo had been missing for 10 years.
